ABOUT CORY TREPANIER

The fine art of Cory Trepanier has inspired and engaged thousands with the beauty of our Canadian lands, waters and skies. Cory's interaction with his subject through extensive exploration transforms his canvases into compelling paintings in oil. In the end, a viewer of these works is faced with more than just a representation of a place and time, but is transported there through the artist's unique vision. His quickly rising profile has been aided by the multi-facetted approach taken to his career and has gained him extensive exposure on television, radio, print and the internet.

In 2004 Cory had a touring solo exhibition of his "COAST To CANVAS Collection" of paintings from Lake Superior and Georgian Bay. A one-hour documentary on his wilderness travels and paintings titled "A Painter's Odyssey", winner at the 2005 Waterwalker Film Festival, is airing on Bravo! Television in Canada.

In June of 2006, Cory launched a new multi-year undertaking called the "Into The Arctic: An Artist's Journey to the North". A documentary by the same name that he and his wife Janet produced from the first year of the project premiere in July 2007 on Bravo! television. This engaging new project is sharing the varied landscapes and majesty of Canada's north through Cory's explorations and fine art. A combination of oil paintings, writing, documentary film, photos and exhibitions draw you... into the Arctic. Visit www.intothearctic.com for more details.

Whether in the rolling hills behind his studio, or further afield in our incredible wilderness, the variety that can be found in this vast creation is a continual source of inspiration. Surrounded by the outdoors in the hills of Caledon East, Ontario, Cory lives with his wife Janet, and two young daughters, Andie and Sydney.

ABOUT THE STUDIO/GALLERY
Cory and Janet's charming historic home dates back to the 1870's and sits nestled amongst grand old maple trees. Some of the windows still have original panes of glass in them, and the textured walls and foot-high wood baseboards create a beautiful environment to present Cory's oils paintings.
